1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Corpowid Inc. (“Corpowid”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit corpowid.ai, contact us, request a demo, create an account, use our browser extension or use our services.
For the processing described in this policy, Corpowid acts as the data controller. Where we process data on behalf of our customers as part of delivering our services, we act as a data processor — see section 7.
This policy should be read together with our Cookie Policy, which explains the cookies and similar technologies used on our website.
2. Personal data we collect
- Identity and contact data: name, email address, phone number, company name and job title.
- Account and transaction data: registration details, subscription and billing information, support requests and demo records.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device information, log records and usage data on our website, dashboard and browser extension.
- Marketing data: preferences and behavioural data collected through cookies and similar technologies, subject to your consent.
We collect this data directly from you through forms, account registration, email and meetings, and automatically through cookies and server logs. We may also receive business contact details from publicly available sources and business-information providers for the purpose of contacting organisations that may be interested in our services.

4. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses cookies, local storage and comparable technologies. Only strictly necessary cookies are used without consent; all other categories run only after you have agreed to them. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time through the cookie preference panel. Full details, including the providers involved and retention periods, are set out in our Cookie Policy.
5. Who we share data with
We share personal data with service providers who process it on our behalf, under written agreements that restrict them to our instructions. These include hosting and infrastructure providers, email and communication tools, analytics and advertising platforms, AI service providers that help generate accessibility suggestions ,customer relationship and business-development tools, and payment providers. The third-party technologies active on our website are listed in our Cookie Policy.
We may also disclose personal data to professional advisers, or to competent authorities and courts where we are legally required to do so, and to a successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition or restructuring.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside your country or region. Where that happens, the transfer is made under an appropriate safeguard — such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, an adequacy decision, or the equivalent mechanisms required by your local law. 7. Data we process on behalf of our customers
When our customers use Corpowid on their own websites and applications, we process data relating to their visitors and end users — for example consent records, accessibility preferences and the content of pages scanned for accessibility issuesScan data processed through the browser extension is retained as described in section 8.. For that processing, our customer is the data controller and Corpowid acts as a data processor.
In that role we process data only on our customer’s documented instructions, under a data processing agreement, and we apply appropriate technical and organisational safeguards. If you are a visitor to a website that uses Corpowid and wish to exercise your rights over that data, please contact the operator of that website; we will support them in responding to you.
8. Corpowid Accessibility Toolkit (browser extension)
This section applies to the Corpowid Accessibility Toolkit browser extension (“the extension”) and supplements the rest of this policy.
What the extension does
The extension lets you run accessibility scans of websites you add to My Projects and review the results in your Corpowid dashboard. It also provides on-page tools, such as the contrast checker, screen reader simulation and vision simulator, that work on the page you are viewing.
Data we process through the extension
- Account data: to connect the extension to your Corpowid account, we process [your email address and an authentication token stored in the extension's local storage].
- Scan data: when you start a site scan, we process [the URLs of the scanned pages, the accessibility findings, related HTML element snippets and screenshots of affected elements].
- Usage data: [we collect basic, non-content usage events such as ___ / the extension does not collect usage analytics].
What the extension does not collect
The extension does not collect your browsing history. It does not read or transmit content from websites you have not added to your projects. On-page tools run locally in your browser and their results are not sent to us [unless you choose to save them to your dashboard]. Previews of suggested fixes stay in your browser session and never modify the live website.
How we use this data
We use this data only to provide the extension's features: running scans, storing and displaying findings in your dashboard, generating fix suggestions, and keeping the service secure. [To generate AI-assisted suggestions, the relevant element content (for example an image or its surrounding text) is sent to [AI provider], which processes it on our behalf.] We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or use it for purposes unrelated to the extension's core functionality. [We do not use scan data to train AI models.]
Content on scanned websites
Pages you scan may contain personal data, such as names in reviews or comments. For that content, the organisation that operates the website is the controller and Corpowid acts as a processor, as described in section 7. Please only scan websites you own or are authorised to test.
Storage and retention
Scan data is stored on [provider, region] and kept [for as long as the project exists in your account]. You can delete scans or projects from your dashboard at any time. When you delete your account, associated scan data is deleted within [__ days].
Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
Corpowid's use of information received through the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
8. Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, and in any event no longer than the maximum periods required by applicable law or the relevant limitation periods. Account and billing data is retained for the duration of the relationship and for the statutory period afterwards; enquiry and demo records are kept for as long as they remain commercially relevant. When retention is no longer necessary, data is deleted or anonymised. Scan data processed through the browser extension is retained as described in section 8.
9. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or loss, taking into account the nature of the data and the risks involved. These include access controls, encryption in transit, logging and regular review of our processes.
10. Your rights
Subject to the conditions of applicable data protection law, you have the right to:
- access your personal data and obtain a copy;
- have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected;
- request erasure of your data;
- request restriction of processing in certain circumstances;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to object at any time to direct marketing;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand;
- lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in your country.
To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. We respond within one month of receiving your request; where a request is complex, that period may be extended by up to two further months and we will tell you if that is the case.
11. Children
Our website and services are directed at organisations and business users. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. The current version applies from the date shown at the top of this page, and material changes will be brought to your attention.
